Salisbury, Md. (February 20, 2014)  - HealthConnectNow! Enrollment Event to Be Held at Wicomico Youth and Civic Center on Saturday, March 8, 2014.  

Who: Lower Shore Health Insurance Assistance Program
 
What: The Lower Shore Health Insurance Assistance Programis hosting HealthConnectNow!, a local health fair to enroll uninsured Marylanders in quality, affordable health coverage prior to the March 31 deadline for open enrollment.

Where:
Wicomico Youth and Civic Center
                500 Glen Avenue, Salisbury, MD 21804
 
When: Saturday, March 8th from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
 
Details:  HealthConnectNow! is a local health fair featuring free health screenings, information on healthy cooking and fitness, and entertainment. Certified representatives of the Lower Shore Health Insurance Assistance Program, along with insurance carriers and brokers, will be on hand to answer questions and help attendees enroll in a health plan.

Those enrolling in health coverage should bring Social Security numbers, employer and income information for everyone in their household, policy numbers for any current health insurance, and information about any job-related insurance available to anyone in the family.

What’s the Bottom Line on the Risks of E-cigarettes for Kids, Teens, and Young Adults?

  • The use of e-cigarettes is unsafe for kids, teens, and young adults.
  • Most e-cigarettes contain nicotine. Nicotine is highly addictive and can harm adolescent brain development, which continues into the early to mid-20s.1
  • E-cigarettes can contain other harmful substances besides nicotine.
  • Young people who use e-cigarettes may be more likely to smoke cigarettes in the future.

Winter storms create a higher risk of car accidents, hypothermia, frostbite, carbon monoxide poisoning, and heart attacks from overexertion. Winter storms and blizzards can bring extreme cold, freezing rain, snow, ice, and high winds.

Take Care During Winter Storms:
