Maryland Health Connection Open Enrollment Ends March 31, 2014

Snow Hill, Md. – Open enrollment for qualified health plans through Maryland Health Connection ends March 31, 2014. This is the last chance for consumers to get health insurance through the state's marketplace until the next open enrollment period. Qualified health plan applications submitted by March 31, 2014 will have coverage effective May 1, 2014.

 

Individuals and families who are uninsured or do not have access to affordable health coverage are eligible to apply. Certified staff of the Lower Shore Health Insurance Assistance Program are available in Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester counties to help people through the application process. To request assistance, call 855-445-5540.

 

Enrollment can also be completed online at www.marylandhealthconnection.gov.

 

Individuals who experienced technical difficulties with their online application may call a new hotline for assistance (800-396-1961).

The Worcester County Health Department, in partnership with the Town of Ocean City Fire Department, has launched a “Safe Station” in Ocean City at the 15th Street Fire Station for those seeking immediate help getting into recovery. Baltimore, MD (August 18, 2015) – The Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DHMH) today is announcing the first confirmed and locally acquired case of West Nile Virus (WNV) in Maryland this year. The infected individual is an adult who lives in the Baltimore Metropolitan region. In addition, WNV also has been detected in mosquito pools collected in Anne Arundel and Prince George’s counties. A mosquito pool is a group of mosquitoes collected at one of several trap sites across the state.
