We provide parent education to a variety of families and at community sites including the Detention Center.  We utilize model, evidence based programs such as Nurturing Families, Nurturing Fathers, Co-Parenting, and Parenting Wisely. Parenting Help – Free Tips, Advice, Resources, Stories, and Guidance.  Parenting can be a difficult job; however it can also be the most rewarding job you’ll ever have.   Includes the Safe Homes Program is a family-focused initiative which empowers parents through a pledged commitment to maintain an alcohol and drug free home that is safe for children and the children’s social activities and recreation.


 This service is provided by the Prevention Program.

Worcester County invites the public to celebrate 20 years and 20 million steps taken with the Just Walk Worcester Program on Walk Maryland Day October 4, 2017.
 
The celebration is free and open to the public beginning begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Worcester County Recreation Facility, 6030 Public Landing Rd., Snow Hill, Md. 21863. The event will feature refreshments, guest speakers, and a fun walk.

Worcester Health: New funding is available for community tobacco cessation projects
 
Snow Hill, MD-The Worcester County Health Department (WCHD) requests smoking cessation and education proposals from county entities. Community-based organizations, churches, private entities, non-profits, and workplaces are encouraged to apply. The Cigarette Restitution Fund, by way of WCHD and Maryland Department of Health, will provide grant funding for approved projects.

The Worcester County Health Department is encouraging local residents to participate in an open interest meeting about community gardens in our area. If you are a gardener or are interested in learning about or working on a community garden in Worcester, please attend the free event at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20 at the Worcester County Recreation Center in Snow Hill.
