Healthcare.gov healps you find insurance options, get help using insurance, get updated on health care laws, access information on the quality of care you are receiving and learn about new preventative and wellness initiatives.

Medicaid.gov
Medicaid.gov helps you learn about each state's Medicaid and children's health insurance programs.

Network of Care is an interactive website where you can easily access a wide variety of information on resources, services and programs. 

Maryland Children's Health Insurance Program (MCHIP)
The Maryland Children's Health Insurance Program (MCHIP) gives full health benefits for children up to age 19, and pregnant women of any age who meet the income guidelines. 

Maryland Children's Health Program Premium (MCHP Premium)
Maryland Children's Health Insurance Premium Program gives full health benefits for income eligible children up to age 19 who do not qualify for the free MCHP program. By paying one low monthly premium per family, children et health care through HealthChoice.

Medical Assistance for Families Program
The Medical Assistance for Families Program provides full health benefits to parents and other family members caring for children. Eligibility depends on family size and income. 

Maryland Family Planning Program
Provides services to eligible women under 51 years old. The Family Planning Program offers a limited benefit package.

Children's Medical Services
Children's Medical Services is a program that can help low-income, uninsured or underinsured Maryland residents ages 0-21 to get specialty care for chronic illness or disability by providing payment for the needed services.

Maryland Health Insurance Plan
MHIP was created for Maryland residents who are unable to obtain health insurance due to pre-existing medical conditions or private coverage is available, but benefits are excluded because of the health condition.

Maryland Health Insurance Plan Federal
MHIP Federal was created for Maryland residents who are unable to obtain health insurance due to pre-existing medicacl conditoins

Employed Individuals with Disabilities Program
EID extends Medical Assistance health benefits to working Marylanders with disabilities. This program lets you return to worka nd keep your health benefits by paying a small fee.

Maryland Waiver Programs
Waiver programs through Mediciaid is responsible for the implementation and ongoing administration of home and community-based services waivers and targeted case management programs for special population groups such as the elderly, the mentally ill and the physically and mentally disabled.

Maryland Insurance Administration
Can help you learn what types of insurance coverages are avilable at what cost and assist you if you have a complaint about how your insurance company response when you file a claim.

Worcester County Health Department ACCU/Ombudsman Program: 410-629-0164 
Provides outreach, education and care coordination activities to the Medical Assistance population as well as the uninsured and underinsured populations. The program insures that clients remain in care and that all populations have access to needed health care services, local resources and programs.

Training available at a discounted cost to county alcohol licensees

(Snow Hill, MD)- The Worcester County Health Department is offering discounted TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) classes and certification to Worcester County alcohol-licensed establishments. TIPS training is shown to decrease an establishment’s chances of alcohol violation penalties, keep our community safer, and increase customer satisfaction.

Crystal Bell will participate in "Walkable Communities" training program.


Snow Hill, MD - America Walks, a national advocacy organization working to empower communities to create safe, accessible, and enjoyable places to walk, announced today that they are awarding Crystal Bell, of Worcester County Health Department, a Walking College Fellowship as part of the 2018 program. The Fellowship will enable Bell and other advocates from around the country to participate in a five-month training program designed to strengthen local efforts to make communities more walkable and livable.

Cases are on the Rise—Effects can be Harmful and Deadly

Baltimore, MD (April 17, 2018) – The Maryland Department of Health and the Maryland Poison Center have reported the fourth hospitalization in Maryland from individuals experiencing risk of severe bleeding after using synthetic cannabinoids, which are often called Spice, K2, Bliss, Scooby Snax, or fake weed.

Fatalities related to intoxication down in Somerset, Worcester and Wicomico in 2017

Snow Hill, MD- Deaths related to drug and alcohol intoxication, including opioid overdoses, are down in Worcester, Wicomico and Somerset Counties, according to 3rd Quarter 2017 Overdose Data released by the Maryland Department of Health last week. From January through September 2016, compared to the same period in 2017, intoxication fatalities are down 20-percent in Somerset County, 42-percent in Worcester County, and 32-percent in Wicomico County. The drop-off in the Tri-County region comes at a time when overall drug and alcohol related deaths in Maryland are on the rise.
