Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion (LEAD)

L.E.A.D. = Law Enforcement Assisted Diversion

We LEAD with compassion.

A community-based approach to reducing the utilization of law enforcement and other emergency services for individuals with untreated behavioral health needs such as mental illness, substance use, extreme poverty, and homelessness.

Eligibility:

Worcester County resident(s) who,
have had legal involvement with police and;
Presents with a substance use and/or mental health need and/or is;
Experiencing extreme poverty, homelessness, or both;
Subject of a non-fatal overdose.

Ineligibility:

Not living in Worcester County;
Is a part of the vulnerable adult population and or;
Has been convicted of a serious offense included but not limited to: sexual assault, offenses involving firearms, or child abuse.
