Physical copies of tracking sheets can also be mailed upon request. From October 4th-8th, residents can visit any of the participating parks and search for the hidden Just Walk sneakers with health messages. Once participants find the hidden sneakers, they are encouraged to write the number listed on the bottom of the sneaker, the health message, and which park the sneaker was found on the provided tracking sheet. At the end of the scavenger hunt, participants can send in their completed tracking sheet to be entered into a free raffle drawing!

This is a family-friendly event and a fun way to increase physical activity by walking and participating in the scavenger hunt. “Walking is the state’s official exercise and continues to be one of the easiest forms of physical activity and it’s free to everyone. There are many reasons to walk. There are also various health benefits that can be gained from simply walking,” said Mimi Dean, Director of Prevention Services.

Thank you to the town of Berlin, Snow Hill, Pocomoke, Ocean Pines Recreation and Parks, Ocean City Recreation and Parks, and Worcester County Recreation and Parks for their continued support and their efforts to keep our parks beautiful and accessible.
