DHMH will continue to monitor the federal budget situation, and will immediately post any change to the Maryland WIC status. The Department will continue to work with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and Governor O’Malley’s office to minimize service disruptions
The Maryland WIC Program provides nutrition education, breastfeeding support, and connections to other public health services, as well as essential supplemental foods to pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children. Approximately 145,000 Marylanders participate and receive WIC benefits every month.
