Worcester Health helping youth live smoke-free with spring youth quit smoking/vaping program

Snow Hill, MD- Do you have a teen that smokes or vapes?

If so, the Worcester County Health Department is offering a Youth Quit Smoking and Vaping Program, scheduled to begin in January. Worcester Health is committed to preventing tobacco, and nicotine product use among youth and offering quit resources. This program is designed for youth ages 13-17. Join one of our youth quit smoking and/or vaping classes starting next month: 

  • Tuesdays, 3:00p.m.- 4:00 p.m., (January 9, 2024-March 26, 2024) at the Snow Hill Health Center, 6040 Public Landing Rd.
  • Wednesdays, 3:00p.m. - 4:00p.m., (January 10, 2024-March 27, 2024) at the Pocomoke Health Center, 400-A Walnut St.
  • Thursdays, 3:30-4:30 p.m., (January 11, 2024- March 28, 2024) at the Berlin Health Center, 9730 Healthway Dr.

The program consists of 10 weekly sessions that are 50 minutes in length followed by two (2) support group sessions. Through group support, you are able to meet with a trained tobacco coach who will support you during your quit journey. Key topics of discussion will include stress management, communication, nicotine addiction, effects of smoking and vaping, reasons for quitting, how to develop a quit plan, and relapse prevention.
