The Worcester County Health Department is located in Snow Hill, Maryland on the beautiful Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland.
Our mission is to promote health, well being, and a safe environment for all of our residents, as well as those who visit our resort areas each season.
We accomplish this by assessing the community's needs, developing appropriate policy to promote health and well being, and providing, or assuring the provision, of needed quality health services. We currently have approx. 275 employees with a variety of educational backgrounds who specialize in such areas as: Environmental Science, Nursing, Social Work, Prevention and Health Promotion, Chemical Dependency Services, Administrative Services, and Mental Health.

The selected candidate for this position will be joining a dynamic team, at a Joint Commission accredited organization where he/she will be working with diverse populations, including children, adolescents, and adults, in a work environment that offers flexibility and opportunities for innovative practice in a multi-disciplinary setting. The scope of practice includes: evaluating, assessing, diagnosing & treating individuals to determine necessary psychiatric treatment, including prescribing and monitoring of medications; crisis intervention and the planning and implementing of treatment. The selected applicant must be able to work and travel to all sites of the Worcester County Health Department.

The main purpose of this part time contractual position is to provide and organize child care activities for children in care of the Center 4 Clean Start (C4CS). This position will provide a clean, safe and stimulating environment with age appropriate play activities for infants and toddlers attending C4CS. This position also assists with transportation for the C4CS clients and children as needed.
