The Worcester County Health Department is located in Snow Hill, Maryland on the beautiful Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland.

 

Our mission is to promote health, well being, and a safe environment for all of our residents, as well as those who visit our resort areas each season.

We accomplish this by assessing the community's needs, developing appropriate policy to promote health and well being, and providing, or assuring the provision, of needed quality health services. We currently have approx. 275 employees with a variety of educational backgrounds who specialize in such areas as: Environmental Science, Nursing, Social Work, Prevention and Health Promotion, Chemical Dependency Services, Administrative Services, and Mental Health.

Community Health Nurse Program Manager (Merit)

The main purpose of this full-time professional nursing management position will be to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate the Maternal & Child Program. This includes the Reproductive Health and Immunization programs within the Community Health Department of the Worcester County Health Department. This position will assist in the interpretation and implementation of departmental policies and procedures; preparing and monitoring program budgets in cooperation with subordinate program supervisors with oversight from the Director of Nursing; and representing nursing services on appropriate agency and State committees. In addition, this position will supervise subordinate nursing program supervisors and indirectly supervise other health care staff assigned to the program. Filing deadline is 7/30/24

Fiscal Accounts Technician II **REPOST** (Merit)

Coordinator Special Programs III, Health Services (Merit)

The main purpose of this full-time position will be to direct and oversee Care Coordination activities which includes facilitation of teams, monitoring of programmatic data, reporting, and coordination with partners. Care Coordination is intended to support and empower participants by partnering with them to obtain needed community resources that will support their recovery, health, functionality, and well-being. This position will be responsible for directing programmatic and administrative activities within the assigned grants. Filing deadline is 7/19/24

Social Worker II, Health Services

Social Worker II, Health Services is the full performance level of professional clinical social work providing direct social work services to clients in a special population in a health care setting. The nature of the work may require evening and weekend hours. Work is performed in hospitals, residential facilities, clinics or local health units.

COMMUNITY HEALTH NURSE II 

A Community Health Nurse II is the full performance level of direct nursing care to patients in various community settings and local health department clinics.  Employees in this classification do not supervise other nursing staff but may supervise support staff.
