Manage your high blood pressure with Worcester Health’s Healthy Heart Ambassador Program

Snow Hill, MD- Take the first step towards achieving better heart health with Worcester County Health Department’s Healthy Heart Ambassador Program. Beginning this month, the four-month program is designed to give you the knowledge and necessary skills to manage your blood pressure effectively.

The Healthy Heart Ambassador Program trains you how to measure and track your blood pressure at home and provides you with your own blood pressure monitor. Throughout the program, you will receive personalized guidance and support from trained professionals along with nutrition education to support a healthy blood pressure.

Beginning on Wednesday, September 23, classes will be held at Shiloh United Methodist Church (2655 Worcester Hwy, Pocomoke City, MD 21851) from 10a.m. - 11a.m.

To qualify for the Healthy Heart Ambassador Program, you must:

be at least 18 years old
have been diagnosed with high blood pressure and/or are on antihypertensive medication
not have experienced a recent cardiac event
not have atrial fibrillation or other arrhythmias
not have or not be at risk for lymphedema.
